JulTime in London // Announcement: Mission Enhancement & Meeting the mayor of Huddersfield in 1 week
Jul
Hello hello,
It’s already Wednesday and I am ready to leave London. Yes, I know being late. But at the moment, I am struggling with all my daily work. I try to find the right way managing all project tasks and my private business.
I have a major challenge enhancing the project mission by a new idea. This idea is far beyond the issue of the financial crisis. It shall be an effective way to do something in our economy during my expedition. Being in hurry, I cannot write the new idea down. But see it as an announcement for a bigger project enhancement. More news when I will find time within the next 2 weeks cycling to Northern England, Ireland and along the French west coast towards Spain.
Did I like it in London the last 4 days? No, I felt me weird. It is for me a grey, too modern, too well developed, stressful city (except of Camden market area). I realised also a different life on the street. People don’t scare at you when you look crazy. Everybody is crazy in London :o) That is also what Jacqueline and Roger explained me. Jacqueline and Roger are our team partners in London producing & publishing our video documentation. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the time with them talking about intellectual issues how we can enhance the project management.
Ah hurry up! It’s already 4pm. I must start cycling to meet the mayor of Huddersfield in one week. Huddersfield is a city in Northern England my old students’ town.
PS:
The pics show my 30hours night ride from Netherlands to the French / Belgian border, continuing to the French north coast to Calais taking the ferry to Dover (Southern England) and finally my arrival in Sevenoaks (near London), and my last days in and around London.

JunUpdate of my Country Cycling Rating: Integration of Sweden and Denmark
Jun
I updated the Country Cycling Rating integrating Sweden and Denmark. Please see all results on the site Rating.
As summary for the Scandinavian countries, it was a dream for cycling. I wonder that other countries don’t use Scandinavian’s cycling infrastructure and road conditions as example for improvements.
One bad example: Hamburg, the city in Northern Germany where I am staying at the moment. Horrible cared and very dangerous cycle paths!
I see it as signal therefor, that the German minister for traffic is either corrupt or he is too lazy to cycle.
Updated diagram:
Rating scale = {0 - not rated yet; 1 - worst case; 2 - very bad; … ; 5 - very good; 6 - top}

JunBook Of Wonders – Page for Sweden (summary of all interviews)
Jun
| The survey results for Sweden, based on the records of May 2009, are based on interviews with citizens such as journalists, students of different courses and a Swedish house buyer, and squatters. |
Voila,
these are the results of my interviews in Finland.
(Note: All countries’ surveys are stored in our Book Of Wonders)
The following results for Finland, based on the records of February to April 2009, are based on interviews with citizens of different occupations and income groups, such as civil servants, journalists, engineers, students and unemployed persons.
What do they think about the reasons of this financial crisis?
- Interesting, the majority of my interviewees (of different occupations) are the opinion that is there is no financial crisis at all. They complain about the negative news in the media scaring citizen. Thus, citizen believing in these news spend less money, business earn less money (considering import and export) and followed by firing stuff
